FAQ

WHY BUY ORGANICALLY GROWN COTTON?

No toxic chemicals are used in the growing of organic cotton.  It doesn't damage the soil, has less impact on the air, and uses 71% less water and 62% less energy than conventional cotton.  Organic certification in manufacturing requires dyes to meet biodegradability,  the proper treatment of water, and prohibits the use of toxic heavy metals. Organic Cotton limits exposure to the harmful chemicals often found in non-organic clothing. Synthetic fibers or non-organic cotton often contain petrochemicals, acrylic, PVC and esters that have been linked to a variety of health problems.

GROWING COTTON:

The World Bank estimates that around 20% of all industrial water pollution in the world comes from the treatment of dying textiles and garments. Conventional cotton uses about 16% of the world’s insecticides and 7% of pesticides.  The choice of organic clothing is  part of a larger trend towards sustainability!

WHAT IS FAIR TRADE AND G.O.T.S?
