Mustard Seed Mom Of The Month - February

At Mustard Seed Baby, we believe that Moms are heroes. God knew what he was doing when he made a mother’s heart and gave them precious babies to protect, love and nurture. With all the pressure to make sure we’re doing things right, we sometimes forget to recognize we’re doing all we can.

So, this is for you, mamas, a reminder today that you’re not in this alone. That there’s a multitude of moms behind you, fighting the same kinds of battles, wiping the same kinds of tears, with the same mission to raise kind and thoughtful human beings.

Each month, we recognize a special “Mustard Seed Mom”, getting a little glimpse into her journey of motherhood. If you’d like to be a Mustard Seed Mom and share your story or know someone you think should be honored, send us a message!

XOXO,

Mustard Seed Baby

TELL US ABOUT THE WAY YOU FELT, THE FIRST TIME YOU HELD YOUR BABY
I felt amazed. I couldn’t believe this perfect little human being grew inside of me!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE DAILY NIGHT PRAYER WITH THE LITTLE ONES?
I love to pray with her for other babies and my pregnant friends, that all of their babies stay healthy and safe.

WHAT DO YOU WORRY ABOUT THE MOST IN REGARD TO YOUR LITTLE ONES FUTURE?
I worry about the friends she will have. I truly believe that friends have the biggest influence on you, so every night I pray that she will surround herself with Christ-like, positive-influencing friends. I also pray that she will be a loyal friend and a leader who is a Christ-like influence wherever she goes.

IF YOU COULD GIVE A NEW MOM ONE TIP, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Sleep when the baby sleeps and if someone offers help, take it!!

HOW DO YOU BALANCE YOUR CHILD'S NEEDS WITH YOUR OWN?
She is easy right now, as long as she’s fed and has a clean diaper, she’s happy.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PARENTING STYLE?
Right now, my husband and I are still learning and adjusting to being new parents! I don’t think you’re ever done learning as a mom. When that time comes for us, we will be considered authoritative. Kinzley will be expected to follow rules and show respect always. She will know there are consequences to actions because we believe in teaching Christ-like behaviors and following God’s word, in a nurturing and loving environment, of course.

TELL US THE MOST CHALLENGING PART OF BEING A MOM
Adjusting to a new sleep pattern. It was especially difficult in Kinzley’s first weeks, when she would wake up every couple of hours to eat. Now, she sleeps through most of the night, but I still wake up several times during the night to make sure she is breathing!

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE PARENTING BOOK YOU WOULD RECOMMEND?
I don’t, but my husband suggests “The New Dad’s Playbook” by Ben Watson for all the new or soon-to-be daddies out there.

WHAT “STYLE” BEST DESCRIBES YOUR BABIES NURSERY?
We went neutral. Grey, white and dusty rose colors with a few giraffes and elephant decorations.

FAVORITE MUSTARD SEED BABY ONESIE DESIGN AND WHY?
The “XOXO, GOD” onesie! Because my Kinzley Grace is a gift from God! It just reminds me that she came from Him in His perfect timing and that she is SO LOVED.
